The Plan
Secure $75,000 in donations from private citizens, local businesses and corporate challenge donations to build a modern facsimile of the Ft. Kaskaskia Shelter House utilizing the original footprint and stonework.
The $75,000 project funding will cover all site work including the construction of the new Shelter House, concrete work, stone work, painting and electrical work. New picnic tables will be purchased from the fund. Any monies raised in excess of the project requirements will be held in an escrow account by the Community Foundation of Randolph County for the care and upkeep of the Shelter House, NOT BY THE STATE OF ILLINOIS.
Any person, family, business or organization that gifts $1,000 or more will have their name displayed on a permanent bronze plate on one of the original stone pillars. The new benefactor bronze plates will be similar in scale and design to the original bronze plates, part of the original salvaged structure to be incorporated into the new Shelter House.
No gift is insignificant, regardless of size! Your gift tax deductible.
